Your draft and checklist stay in your browser
FanWindow uses local storage for your unfinished draft, language preference, and checklist ticks. Timelines you explicitly keep in the local shelf are also stored on this device. A service worker caches the static app shell and guides for offline access after a successful first load; it does not store external source pages or send timelines to a server. No account is required. The app has no timeline database and does not send these values to a server. Anyone using the same browser profile may be able to see them. Clearing site data removes them; private-browsing sessions may discard them automatically.
Remove locally saved timelines from the Saved page. Installing the app creates a home-screen entry where supported; installation does not sync data or enable push notifications. Use “Clear this browser’s draft” in the editor to clear the saved draft, or “Reset my checklist” on a timeline to reset that timeline’s ticks. You can remove all FanWindow local data through your browser’s site-data settings. There is no server copy to restore.
A shared link contains the timeline
When you choose Share, FanWindow compresses the title, deadline labels, times, notes, source zone, source URL, identifiers, and creation timestamp into the part of the URL after #. This fragment is normally not included in the HTTP request sent to the hosting server. The page’s JavaScript reads it locally to display the timeline. Checklist ticks are not included.
The link is encoded, not encrypted. Anyone who receives the complete link can read and forward its contents. It can appear in your browser history, synchronized browser data, clipboard, screenshots, or the chat service where you share it. Do not put identity details, membership numbers, booking references, payment information, or other confidential content in a timeline. There is no link revocation: previously shared copies remain readable.
Exports and outside services
Calendar and image files are generated locally. Downloading a file saves it on your device. Importing it into a calendar service, sending it in a chat, copying it to a synchronized clipboard, or using your device’s share sheet may send its contents to that service. Those services have their own privacy policies. Opening a source link also leaves FanWindow; the app uses a no-referrer policy for outgoing requests.
Hosting and tracking
The static site is designed for hosting on Cloudflare Pages. As a hosting provider, Cloudflare may process ordinary request information such as IP address, requested path, device/browser information, and technical logs under its own policies. We do not add application analytics, ad scripts, tracking pixels, external fonts, or advertising cookies. No advertising network is active on the editor or shared-view pages, or anywhere else in this release.
Read Cloudflare’s privacy policy for the provider’s current practices. Hosting logs are different from the timeline content in the URL fragment.
What this tool does not do
FanWindow does not monitor announcements, send notifications, book tickets, verify memberships, or guarantee deadlines. Shared links are snapshots. A browser draft is not encrypted private storage. Source links are supplied by the timeline creator, so verify the destination before trusting a notice or entering information.
